On November 21 and 23, 2022, a Training on Infrastructure Audit was conducted at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Batangas City.
Participated in by all municipalities and cities in Batangas Province, the training was designed to discuss updates on Infrastructure audit checklist for buildings, rapid visual screening of buildings for potential seismic vulnerability, and introduction of early warning system for earth quake.
On the second and final day of the training, the Local Government Unit of Balayan representatives from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), and Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) together with delegates from Calatagan and Nasugbu have formed a team of Infrastructure Audit System and conducted a mock audit on the DepEd Provincial Office.
The main purpose of the Infrastructure Audit System is to determine the integrity of buildings for seismic hazards, especially those aged 15 years and above.
As part of the mock audit, a short role-playing about how the report and assessments should be conducted from the screeners, senior screeners, supervising engineer, program manager, up to the responsible official for the final decision has been conducted.
