On September 14, 2022, the Municipality of Balayan held the Accredited Civil Society Organization’s Selection Meeting. Fifteen (15) accredited Civil Society Organizations were present during the meeting. Mrs. Minerva Codizal, MPDO Head, welcomed all the guests and introduced each CSO representative.
Municipal Administrator, Mr. Gonzalo A. Baral started his message by appreciating the presence of each CSO representative. He added the importance of CSOs being involved in planning and emphasized on bureaucracy wherein he noted that “anyone can contribute”.
An inspirational message was given by Coun. Demetrio Hernandez, SB Chairman on Accreditation as he congratulates the accredited CSOs for submitting all the requirements for accreditation and said that there were already more than 100 Civil Society Organizations in Balayan.
Mrs. Maria Isabel Llanto, MLGOO, discussed what is Participatory Governance all about, its benefits, outcomes and potential impacts in the LGU. She also added the People Council’s legal basis, roles and responsibilities as well as the requirements for membership. In addition, CSO representative gave insights about their respective organization and advocacies.
The fifteen (15) Accredited CSOs selected the Local Special Bodies which they prefer to be a member of.
